Tour Itinerary

The following itinerary may be subject to change at short notice.

Day one: Flight to Cambodia

You will leave Heathrow on a flight to Cambodia, a remote kingdom which is fast becoming the world’s most adventurous dirt bike destination.

Day Two: Arrival in Phnom Penh

Acclimatization day. Check-in at the hotel and take a chance to relax by the pool. Pre-tour briefing and a chance to meet the team, your fellow riders and your motorcycles, and set them up for the big bike ride ahead.

o
Day Three: Phnom Penh To Snoul, via Kompong Cham. (c.200kms)

Dawn start from Phnom Penh. Leave the highway for the first 20kms out of town and ride along the edge of the Tonle Sap River avoiding the traffic and enjoying the first views of the countryside. Visit a local Pagoda and get a Buddhist blessing from the monks, for good luck and to ward off evil spirits whilst on our trip. Jump across the main highway and ride alongside the Mekong River. Visit our first Angkorian Era temple at Wat Nokor. Lunch in Kompong Cham then a road ride to the town of Snoul, the start of the old Ho Chi Minh Trail.

o
Day Four: Snoul to Sen Monorom, (Mondulkiri) (c.140kms)

Leave the black top behind for the start of the southern end of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. No more tarmac now until the end of the trip. Ride up to Sen Monorom using a lesser-known jungle trail used only by motorcycles or the most hardcore 4x4’s, known locally as the Kings Highway. If we make good progress, we will visit the spectacular Bou Sra Waterfalls.

Day Five: Mondulkiri to Ratanakiri, via the Death Highway (c.160kms)

This morning we tackle the infamous ‘Death Highway’ riding through Lumphat and the remote village of Kon Niek. The day ends with a ferry boat crossing of the Sre Pok, the ‘Apocalypse Now’ river! The ride is tough but extremely rewarding.

Day Six: Visit the hill tribes or an optional rest day

Spend a half-day riding out to where the locals mine the semi-precious stone Zirconium. Visit a local hill tribe and check out Banlung market where you can buy hill tribe crafts and later swim in Yeak Loam, the volcanic crater lake. Alternatively, just kick back at a local trekking lodge in the former Governor’s house, lounge by the pool or enjoy the spa facilities which include sauna and massage.

Day Seven: Banlung To Stung Treng. (c.140kms)

Back down out of the Hill Tribe country and on to the provincial capital on the banks of the Mekong River. An easy ride that will allow us time to get prepared for tomorrow’s big day. Take a sunset beer overlooking the Mighty Mekong and Sekong rivers.

Day Eight: Stung Treng to T’Beang Meanchey (TBY). (c.145kms)

Dawn on the Mekong River with a ferry crossing over to the far shore. Then into the bush for one of the best tracks to be ridden in the whole country. A full day’s ride taking us deep into rural Cambodia. A thrilling but exacting trail, today we will all have to dig deep. The first beer won’t touch the sides!

Day Nine: Day trip to Preah Vihear (c.200kms)

Ride to Preah Vihear Temple, riders who like a challenge can take the more exacting route via Chom Kasan to the temple and return on the graded highway, while others can travel via graded highway to and from the temple.

Day Ten: T’Beang Meanchey to Prasat Bak Khan (Preah Khan) (c.130kms)

Camp near the ancient and deserted ruins of the enormous temple site of Preah Khan. Bathe in a nearby river. Enjoy one of the legendary Cambo Enduro barbeques, whilst watching the sunset over the sacred site.

Day Eleven: Preah Khan to Siem Reap (c.140kms)

Ride on South East Asia’s own Route 66 passing the Beng Melea Temple, eventually arriving at Siem Reap - the home of Angkor Wat.

Day Twelve: Siem Reap

Hiring TukTuks we will visit many of the temples that comprise Angkor Wat (our motorcycles are not allowed in the complex). In the evening we will have our farewell party, complete with Cambodian and French cuisine and our own DJ to get the party started.

Day Thirteen: Siem Reap to London

Back home to loved ones and a chance to recount tales of derring do and wonders seen!
